Deep Tissue Massage
Sports and remedial massage are an important part of patient care at RESTORE Health & Fitness. Our team have been helping patients overcome a range of conditions, from short term muscle spasm or tightness, through to longer term postural or movement issues.
Muscle soreness or tightness is common and can be caused by a range of things including stress, posture, sports, or exercise, or after surgery. When muscles become overactive, they can cause pain, fatigue, headaches, and restricted movement.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage
Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is what we call a “skin technique” rather than a massage in, which the MLD therapist uses specialized, infinitely light, rhythmic pumping techniques on the skin to encourage lymph to move in the direction in, which the skin is being stretched. This stimulates the lymphatic vessels, which carry substances vital to the defence of the body and removes waste products.
MLD though light in its application, it has a very profound effect on the body and for this reason is used to help to treat a variety of conditions. Here are some of the main applications.
- Primary/secondary Lymphoedema
- Venous oedema
- Lipoedema
- Post-operative oedema following cosmetic surgery
Not only is MLD used for more serious pathologies, but it is also a useful and very efficient therapy for general wellbeing, relaxation, and detoxing.

Shockwave Therapy
Shockwave therapy is an effective, non-invasive treatment of injured soft tissues, specifically tendons and plantarfasciitis when an injury reaches a chronic non-healing state. A safe alternative to surgery or steroid and other treatment injections, shockwave therapy is clinically proven to stimulate metabolic reactions. It activates the healing process by provoking an acute phase of healing and by stimulating enzymes involved in reducing pain, resulting in a high rate of success in treating these difficult to treat, often chronic and very painful injuries.
Radial shockwave therapy is so successful in easing tendinopathy it is widely used by the NHS and many private physiotherapy and sports injury clinics.

Acupuncture / Dry Needling
Acupuncture has been shown to naturally activate specific neurochemistry within the brain and spinal cord to improve pain modulation and assist the natural healing processes that enhances recovery. This results in the body producing natural substances, such as pain-relieving endorphins, it stimulates the Qi and provides energy to muscular skeletal conditions.
Acupuncture has many benefits and is widely used in many NHS practices, physiotherapy, and sports injury clinics as a stand-alone holistic treatment.

Medical Cupping Therapy
A trained therapist applies heated cups to specific areas of your body, generally muscular areas like the back, stomach, arms, and legs. The cups could be made of glass, plastic, or silicone.
Cupping therapy is known for its varied therapeutic effects. However, pain mitigation is among the most well-known. It is for this reason that many people are turning to the holistic cupping therapy as an alternative to medication.

Nutritional Coaching
Nutritional coaching, sometimes referred to as health coaching, or health training aims to offer clients practical support to achieve personal health goals. Nutritional coaches work closely with their clients in assessing their lifestyles, well-being, and nutritional health so that action-plans and supportive advice can be put in place.
Nutritional coaching focuses a lot on achieving a healthy diet, however, it also works to motivate, mentor and counsel their client as well, to empower them to take responsibility for their health. A big part of nutritional coaching is also helping people to identify their own behaviours that could be affecting their own health, and therefore helping them to become more knowledgeable about health and well-being.

Exercise Rehabilitation
Our 1 to 1 exercise rehabilitation sessions are planned and designed to meet your personal goals and requirements.
Following the consultation and assessment process by a qualified exercise rehabilitation therapist, your sessions will consist of low impact exercises, which are essential for post-injury recovery. Doing too much too fast can cause re-injury and can prolong or inhibit the healing process. Simple, low impact exercises can provide many benefits and will encourage that healing process.
Rehabilitation programs are used to help restore proper function to a specific area of the body. Low impact exercises and workout plans can be beneficial in rebuilding strength, improving flexibility, and increasing range of motion after an injury to the musculoskeletal system. The aim of the process to get you back to your optimal health and fitness.
